Muncie, IN — The International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association (IRCHA) is pleased to announce several key leadership changes as part of its ongoing commitment to revitalizing and strengthening the organization.

Following the recent resignation of Augusto Arevalo as President, the IRCHA Board of Directors has appointed Angel Rojas as the new President. Angel, who previously served as Vice President, has been a central figure in the organization, known for his dedication and strong leadership during challenging times. The Board is confident that Angel’s leadership will guide IRCHA into a promising future.

In addition, the Board has named Matt Jost as a temporary Board Member to fill the vacancy left by Augusto. Matt will also take on the role of Vice President. A seasoned veteran of the Jamboree, Matt was one of the key reasons for this year’s event success. His extensive experience and passion for the hobby are expected to bring significant value to IRCHA in his new leadership role.

The Board also announces that Michael Wilson will be stepping down as Secretary but will continue to serve as a valued Board Member. Taking his place as Secretary is Septima Stanley, who brings a fresh perspective and energy to the position. Septima’s appointment as Secretary is seen as a strategic move to further strengthen the organization’s leadership team.

These leadership changes are aligned with the Board’s broader strategic focus, which includes several key priorities:

  1. Finalizing the review of the 2024 Jamboree to gather insights and feedback that will inform future events.
  2. Preparing financial statements for release to the membership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  3. Engaging volunteers in various organizational groups to enhance member participation and support.
  4. Preparing for the 2025 Jamboree, with a focus on delivering an even more successful and enjoyable event.
  5. Expanding the vision and mission of IRCHA to fully support the growth and enjoyment of the radio-controlled helicopter hobby.

“The IRCHA Board is excited about the changes and the strategic focus we are implementing,” said Angel Rojas, newly appointed President of IRCHA. “We are committed to continuing the important work of revitalizing IRCHA and ensuring it remains a strong and vibrant community for all our members.”
