For Immediate Release

Muncie, IN — After five years of dedicated service to the International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association (IRCHA), Augusto Arevalo has officially stepped down as President. Augusto’s tenure at IRCHA began in 2019, when he took on the responsibility of addressing significant financial discrepancies within the organization, which led to a period of deep reflection and change.

Augusto’s leadership saw the organization through legal challenges, a renewal of the Board, and a successful transformation that culminated in this year’s Jamboree. Reflecting on his time with IRCHA, Augusto shared that his goal was always to help the organization recover and thrive. Now, with IRCHA on a solid path forward, he has chosen to step down from his role as President, fulfilling a promise he made when he first took office.

In a heartfelt message, Augusto expressed his gratitude to the Board members who stood by him and worked tirelessly to ensure the success of IRCHA. He specifically thanked Angel Rojas, Tima Stanley, Mike Wilson, and Bert Kammerer for their exceptional contributions, noting that their dedication made this year’s Jamboree and the organization’s renewal possible.

Augusto also expressed his support for the future leadership of IRCHA, endorsing Angel Rojas as the next President and Matt Jost as a potential future Board Member. He emphasized that Matt Jost, a seasoned veteran of the Jamboree, was instrumental in making this year’s event a success and deserves recognition in the upcoming elections.

Looking ahead, Augusto plans to return to volunteering for IRCHA, focusing on projects like the IRCHA app and other initiatives he has always been passionate about. He also plans to compete in next year’s Jamboree, this time as a participant, with the sole objective of having fun.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past five years,” Augusto said. “I’m looking forward to seeing IRCHA continue to grow and thrive under new leadership, and I’m excited to stay involved in a volunteer capacity.”

IRCHA remains committed to its mission of supporting and growing the radio-controlled helicopter hobby. The Board is currently reviewing this year’s Jamboree and preparing for next year’s event, with a focus on expanding the vision and mission of the organization.
