The 2010 Nats   August 8-12, 2010

On behalf of the AMA, IRCHA, and the entire NATS staff, I am extending an invitation to you to attend the 2010 NATS. This event is what R/C Helicopter competition is all about - competition, good friends and a great time at the finest model aviation facility in the country. The NATS is an experience you shouldn't miss.  This is my fourteenth year as Event Director and I am excited about being able to bring the NATS to the same time frame as IRCHA allowing many of you to attend both great events in the same week!  I am equally proud of the progress we have made and the people who work with me to bring you the best event possible. The NATS gets better every year with 2010 looking like it will be another great year.

 I'm looking forward to meeting more new competitors and seeing old friends again.

NATS  Registration 

Remember July 15th is the early registration deadline; after July 15th the entry fees will increase by $45.  

It facilitates the process of preparing flight groupings and judging assignments if you sign up early. 

Since the NATS are being held at the same time as the IRCHA Jamboree, you will notice 2.4 GHz. is the ONLY frequency that will be allowed this year. This is being done for the safety of everyone concerned   

If you do not receive an entry form, you may download one from the AMA web site www.modelaircraft.org or www.ircha.org. 

You cannot enter online. 

Print out the form, fill it in and then mail or fax it to AMA.  Note that the form is in 2 sections so review it carefully before you send it in.   

  Schedule of Events 

ALL FLYING - PRACTICE AND COMPETITON WILL BE HELD ON SITE 5 (600X600)

Sunday, Aug. 8 - Contestant check-in, Practice 

  Monday, Aug 9 - Practice until 11:00 - Pilots Meeting at 11:30 - Competition starts at 1:00pm 

  Tuesday, Aug 10 - Thursday, Aug 12 - Competition, All classes - All day  

Lodging 

Motels in Muncie fill up fast for the NATS dates. Make your plans early to be sure you get the accommodations you need. AMA has arranged special rates with some motels in the area; contact Randa Coates - ext. 293 at AMA for information or assistance with reservations.  A list of Hotels can be found on Navigation bars to the left. 

Judging 

As with past NATS, FAI will have seated judges. AMA Classes I - III use contestant judging, so brush up on your 

judging skills. 

    

Practice 

On-site practice will be available all day Sunday August 8.and until 11:00am on Monday, Aug 9, on Site 5 only. 

   Awards and Closing Ceremony 

The Awards and Closing Ceremony will be held on site at the conclusion of competition on Thursday, Aug. 12.  

  

Volunteers  

Your NATS is run by an all volunteer staff and I am extremely proud of the job we do and the way we function as a team. There are many elements that go into making the NATS run smoothly and I am always looking for new talent to bolster our staff. If you will be attending the NATS and would like to share in the NATS experience,
